It’s no secret to anyone who knows George Nahas that he loves animals.
His most recent effort to help local animals in need has been with his announcement of a $50 donation for every car sold at his Wildwood dealership through the entire month of June. These funds will be applied to the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County pet assistance programs they offer to qualifying Sumter County residents such as the free pet food pantry and free spay/neuter vouchers along with routine care of the shelter’s adoptable animals.
“Over the last four years, Mr. Nahas has been increasingly interested in finding ways to help homeless animals and wants to end any animal suffering” commented New Car Sales Manager Rick Collins. “It’s why he’ll be co-sponsoring the Annual Golf Ball Drop on November 4th for the fifth consecutive year and he is planning another special fundraiser with a Casino Night in March of 2018.
He knows firsthand the unconditional love a pet brings someone and that means a lot in his heart.” “His familiar catch phrase ‘Is this a great country or what?’ is so true when we see great citizens such as George Nahas choose to step up and make it even greater by saving lives” added Claudia Labbe, HS/SPCA Fundraiser/PR Chairperson.
The Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County continues to celebrate its 35th anniversary year in June via National “Adopt a Shelter Cat” Month. As part of the celebration, the shelter is reducing their cat adoption fees to only $35 throughout June. The adoptable cats will be neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, Leukemia Combo tested and come with a flea prevention treatment. Cats will be available at their shelter as well as two special events hosted at the Lady Lake Petco where additional cats will be available 10am-2pm on Saturdays June 10th and June 24th.
